Deadline Glasgow - Global Climate Strike
September 24, 2021
"Hundreds of thousands of people in 99 countries have taken part in a coordinated global climate strike demanding urgent action to tackle the ecological crisis.
The strike on Friday, the first worldwide climate action since the coronavirus pandemic hit, is taking place weeks before the Cop26 climate summit in Glasgow, UK. In Germany, two days before the country’s general election, Greta Thunberg told a crowd of more than 100,000 people that “no political party” was doing enough." - The Guardian |
In Milwaukee two dozen people gathered at Wisconsin Ave. and Water St. where Chase and Wells Fargo banks have each conveniently located their Wisconsin central offices. Among the protestors were three true strikers from Rufus King High School and four German students studying at UWM.
After talking to passersby, handing out flyers, gathering honks, thumbs up and shouts of encouragement, the group marched to the park at Water St. and St. Paul Ave. where we talked about the Climate Crisis and what brought us there. Video by Tom Rodman

On September 17, 2021, 350 Milwaukee delivered petitions signed by more than 150,000 people to the Chase and Wells Fargo bank managers at the Wisconsin Ave. Milwaukee central office buildings. We asked the managers to pass the petitions up through the bank management hierarchy.

[September 17, 2021] was powerful. In New York City activists shut down the Global HQs of Chase, Citibank and Bank of America. In Seattle, Chase and Bank of America were closed for business as we took the message directly to their doors. In San Francisco, activists unfurled a massive #StopLine3 banner outside of Wells Fargo’s Global Headquarters.

Enbridge Line 3 Pipeline Protest
August 13, 2021
On August 13, 2021, Nearly 30 activists from Southeastern Wisconsin gathered at Wisconsin Avenue and Water Street in Milwaukee to let Chase Bank, Wells Fargo Bank, and many scores of pedestrians and drivers know that the bank's funding of Enbridge Line 3 (and all pipelines) is killing Earth's Climate and we expect them to ACT!
We talked to dozens of people, handed out flyers, and received hundreds of honks, thumbs-up, and shouts of encouragement and thanks.
Milwaukee had one of the biggest turnouts of the dozens of US cities that joined the event! Way to go Milwaukee!
